GT Night @ Six Flags

17 Sep

Last night Georgia Tech hosted a night at Six Flags Over Georgia.  Nothing but students, facility, and family of Georgia Tech roamed the park.  It was pretty neat and with the temperatures in the 50’s, I am filing this post under the fall category even if fall is weeks away, it sure felt like it.

This was my first time to Six Flags, Luis had been to the park was he was younger.  Even though it’s smaller than the parks in Orlando and they don’t serve alcohol (which by the way this park needs), I thought the park had awesome rides.  The best part of the park being only open for Georgia Tech is that the boys got to ride 3 or 4 times without having to wait in the line again, well, if there was a line.

Just what everyone wants to ride when the temperature is dropping; a water ride, and the only water ride open… I wonder why?

We happened to run into Hoki there, who had already been on the Splash Water Falls six times!  I love seeing everyones faces, pure enjoyment. Up next was Ninja.

Then the Superman ride.

This is where I thought I lost Luis and Eddy and waited in the front of the entrance of the ride for almost two hours.  Somewhere in the two hours I called my mom and cried because I thought Luis left me without looking for me, until the crew came out to let me know a group had gotten stuck on the ride.  Of course! Luis has just the luck to get stuck. So, my anger turned to worry.  Luis and Eddy were the last ones to be taken down off the ride, poor guys!

After being stuck on a ride for almost an hour, first thing you want is food!

Afterwards they went on the Dare Devil ride.

My favorite area was Gotham City.  I wish I could have taken photos of the actual roller coasters, but the rides had no lights.  Both the Mind Bender roller coaster and Batman the ride were in complete darkness.

Did you notice any spider webs in the photos?  It’s because Six Flags is getting ready for Fright Fest.  Which would be something I would like to attend, but once again I have to say, this park needs alcohol vendors.  Maybe that’s just me, but being frightened with a buzz is the only way to go.

Besides not serving alcohol, I didn’t think the park and the areas were designed out very well.  It was hard to find the paths that lead into the next area and many roads lead to dead ends.  Even with a map, it was still hard to figure out where to go and how to get there.  As far as rides go, the assortment of thrill was awesome. By the end of the night, Luis nor Eddy could not decide which ride was their favorite.  We didn’t have enough time to ride everything, but thankfully we were handed free admissions tickets when we first walked into the park.  We are already planning another trip soon.

Today we are going to stay in and relax while watching the Yellow Jackets beat the Kansas Jayhawks, only because we are awesome like that! =)
