Day 86 – Galveston, Texas

12 Apr

A friend of ours from the co-op told us about a hotel in Galveston that had an amazing brunch spread for about $40.00.  Brunch?  One of my newest obsessions of the past year!  Yes, please.

Bernardo’s at Hotel Galvez is known for it’s Sunday Champagne Brunch. Unlimited mimosas or champagne along with lots of delicious food to choose from.  I had pasta salad, eggs benedict, bourbon glazed ham from the carving station, smoked salmon, crab claws, shrimp, and prime rib (not pictured).

Oh, and a chocolate croissant that reminded me of the french chocolate bread we were served for breakfast in the Ryokan in Kyoto, Japan.  Oh, sweet memories.

Lots of desserts.  They even had an ice cream bar and candy bar.

Waiting for more mimosas with full and happy tummies.

After brunch we walked across the street to the beach.

The construction you see out on the dock is Landry’s second boardwalk project.  The boardwalk will have a theme park, shops, and restaurants.  Just like the Kemah Boardwalk that I posted and could read about here from our first day in Texas.

I am new to the whole brunch thing.  I am sure there are more extravagant places to have brunch, but this was on the top of my list of all time best places to get my brunch on.  I loved the hotel, service, food selection, and the drinks.  The location wasn’t too bad either.
