16 Apr

It’s been awhile s since I have posted pictures of meals I have made.

This is our favorite meal from this past week.

I absolutely love lentils. I could eat them everyday.

I made curried lentils with sweet potato, and goat cheese, lime, and cilantro on top from Smitten Kitchen.  You can get the recipe here.  The vegetable side is ratatouille, also from Smitten Kitchen.  You can get the recipe here.   I added the goat cheese that was supposed to be for the top of the ratatouille to the curried lentils instead.  It thought it would give the curry and lime a nice addition, and it did.  The best part is both of these recipes make a large amount, so Luis and I were able to enjoy them for most of the week.

4) Something that makes you so happy.

This is a hard decision, many things make me happy; Luis holding my hand, singing along to a song, anything with animals, anything with flowers, traveling, cooking, being able to sleep until noon, visiting family, and/or having a drink with friends.

Something that makes me happy right now, at this moment would be the unknown.  Is that odd?

I do not know what a picture of the unknown looks like, so I will just post a picture of Luis and I.  Because, it’s the unknown in our life together that makes me happy, and excited, and all things positive.

This is us on our third date 04/2005.  We had no clue what was ahead, and we still have no clue.

3) Favorite band/singer

My Band Pictures, Images and Photos

Source from here.

I wanted to upload a picture that was taken with me and the band, but my stuff is all boxed up and in storage in Atlanta.  It was about 10 years ago when Miami had a rock station called Zeta.  Every year the station would hold an all day music festival called Halloweenie Roast, but I believe that year was Zeta’s last Halloweenie Roast before the station died.   The festival was held on Halloween, and that year I dressed as an angel, all in white.  During a few second’s of silence during Chevelle’s show,  me and two of my  friends screamed at the top of our lungs our request for the band to play, our favorite song; Get Some.  Peter Loeffler, the band’s singer and lead guitarist chuckled and said, “okay then, for you guys”, and played Get Some… just for us.

As my friends and I danced around and sang with the song, a dude tapped me on my shoulders and asked if we wanted to meet the band.  Not thinking he was serious I still followed him. When the band was done with the show we were able to meet the band and take pictures with them.

I had just turned 21, and it was the best year ever.

2)Your favorite movie ever

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Can you guess what my favorite movie ever is that involved a girl who made houses out of waffles while at a restaurant in Hawaii?  I have watched this movie at least 30 times.  For a year straight whenever Luis would look to see what I was watching, it was always this movie, and he would just say, “Again?  You Must know every sentence by now!”.

My waffle house isn’t as nice as the ones she would make, but then again she did them everyday for a long time.

Okay, here is a clear shot of the movie.

Did you guess 50 First Dates?

This movie pretty sums up my wish for life.  Have a special man that makes you fall in love with him over and over again.  Doesn’t even need to be something big, or even everyday.  I just like to be reminded of those feelings I had on our first date.  Too much to ask, maybe.  Poor Luis.   =)

Love. This. Movie. Forever.

100 Day Photo Challenge – Day 1

12 Apr

I have decided to try out and join the 100 day photo challenge group.  This could be a big mistake for many reasons.  One main reason, I have not been good at posting everyday or even every week for a few months now and also I have no idea if the house Luis and I will be living at in Atlanta will even have internet.  Let’s also not forget that in two weeks I have the pleasure of driving 12 hours to Atlanta, then another 10 hours to Miami just two days later.  This could be a real challenge.  Let’s get to it and hope I don’t mess it up!

Number one on the list:

1)A picture of you taken today

This is me, sitting in my living room, after working out, in my Led Zeppelin shirt.  So sexy (note sarcasm here).

Sorry, but this is me today.  No need to get dressed up as all that is needed from me today is to work out, make dinner, watch TV, and read a few more chapters from my current book, Prized.

Actually, I kinda like this photo challenge already.  It has given me an excuse to use my Photo Booth on my Mac.  I have only used it about 3 times in the entire 5 years I have owned my lap top.  Shocking, I know.  Most people buy a Mac just for Photo Booth.   I am a shame to the Mac community.
